New Comic: Thunderstruck 693

And we're officially back!

http://talesfromthevault.com/thunderstruck/

Now, I'm plunging right back into Sharon's story, so this may be a bit confusing if you're not up to date. There's a summary on the web page, and this comic wouldn't be a bad place to start if you want to refresh your memory about what sort of situation Sharon's gotten herself into.

New website design, too. Hope you enjoy it...

And it's good to be back with Thunderstruck again.

Huh. What *is* the "strange weapon" that Fundinn has forged in the first panel? It looks like an explosive shell, but they don't appear to be dragging around any artillery in the last panels...

It's totally cool to see them back..

But - what's with the comic bubbles font? I miss the old font. This font makes them "sound" like robots or aliens.

Argh. No win situation. I caught flak from readers who sneered at my use of Comic Sans in the previous comics, so I figured I'd look for an alternative.

The current one isn't called Comic Bubbles, it's called Benguiat Frisky ATT, but that's neither here nor there. Not sure how it makes them "sound" like robots or aliens, but clearly at least one reader isn't too keen on it.

I'm not attached to one font or another... I'd just like to get one that nobody complains about. And that I don't have to pay for. Any suggestions?

How about Action Man?

I think it looks nice. I made a preview for you.

Here's the correct link for the preview: http://bayimg.com/eAineAAfF

And if in case you don't like this font...

Here's another nice font, and a google image search for comic fonts also brings interesting results

Wow... many thanks! I think there are some great choices in that lot, and I'll probably be switching for the next strip. I really appreciate all the effort.

With pleasure. :)

It took me around an hour to mess with all those fonts (in Gimp). It just shows me how no matter what my efforts are, they are negligible comparing to your efforts.

Yay! Welcome back Grayson! I've been peeking in over the years hoping you'd make a come back. Everything is great so far and you've piqued my interest all over again with the new storyline.
Are you going to have a votey button on TWC? Hope so.
Once again, welcome back.

Take care.

Hi Ga'Tor,

Thank you, and I'm glad to be back. So... what is TWC?

This is the sort of profoundly ignorant question you can expect out of me, unfortunately. The part of Thunderstruck that has always been always the hardest for me is promoting the comic. So this is probably some other avenue that I should know about, but don't.

Hey Grayson. TWC is Top Web Comics here is a link:
http://topwebcomics.com/
They list well over a thousand web comics and it is a good way to display your work and pick up a following. They are also very helpful to writers/creators/artists etc. in a variety of ways. They'll show you how to put a vote button on your site and maybe how to make a bit of ad money on the side.

Best of luck.
