Calling Danny's soul "lost" sounds like it might have gone to the spirit world. It's probably unlikely, since if he had, Bella wouldn't have been able to form a string from the two of them.
I would say, find an exorcist who could send all of those demons away. That Danny did all that stuff under the influence of a whole bunch of demons who are now gone ought to be a very strong defense. Because as we all know, possession is nine-tenths of the law. (Seriously, saying that he'd been possessed but isn't anymore ought to at least be good for an insanity plea.)
