Here we get the complete introduction to Vigil's top seven--now featuring one Stella Wincott. We also get their corresponding Archangel pairings.
Now, if you're going to write a story with Archangels, you're going to run into different rosters in different religious texts. I didn't go with any one tradition's version, but rather chose a kind of all-star list to fill out my own lineup. Keep in mind that there were originally ten archangels, and we do know the identity of the non-Vigil survivor.
Anyway, I don't claim to be an expert on angelic lore, but I do find it pretty interesting, as you can probably tell. Fortunately, Thunderstruck isn't a scholarly treatise--so when I run into contradictory source material or something that doesn't square with my version of things, I get to make the call of what works best in the story.
In other news... whoo! Busy time with The Dragon Waking. I'll scrape together a post at some point and tell you all about it.

I've been reading your stuff off and on ever since somebody recommended "Relentless" to me. You are a great storyteller, and congrats on getting published!
Now wondering: If Michael gave Stella Grogan's memories, does that include the last words he wanted to say to Gail - both about how he really died, and about the role he sees for Gail in Vigil? I can't imagine the revelations about his death being omitted, and I REALLY can't imagine Gail's planned role being omitted - especially in light of Stella's being selected as his successor, and ESPECIALLY in light of what Stella has to say in this comic.
I'm curious if this is going to be some sort of Incarnations of Immortality-style "God is distracted by how perfect He is", He's actually some sort of raggedy rat, or He's somehow been trapped, either by Himself (in order to keep the worlds separate? Perhaps He truly thinks that's what's best for the world?) or by some outside force- perhaps a curse that Grand-daddy Glowy-eyes put on Him.
I'm almost certain it'll be related to the separation of the Worlds, however, in such a way that the re-mergence of them would end up ending the Vigil, though that may not be a good thing, despite what many think.
I'm positively certain that Grayson is writing a story where there is no 'good' or 'bad' side, but that every side has a good reason for what they're doing.
